Nowadays our lives don't stop when evening arrives. Life moves at the same pace brightly illuminated under the man made light and power. But then that’s picture perfect for a small part of people in cities. Life comes to a grueling halt for millions of people as the evening arrives. We have been able to expand our power production and our network was never bigger than this, but still many parts of the world still rely on kerosene or oil lamps to scarcely light their houses.

In a major forestation project in the Chinese province of Guangxi, managers are using market instruments to fight climate change.

The latest U.N. climate report published by the United Nations paints a bleak picture of the planet's future. By 2100, the temperature could rise by up to 6.4 degrees. The ice at the polar caps and in Greenland would melt, the sea level would rise by up to 59 centimeters, many coastal regions would be flooded, and entire islands would disappear. Long periods of drought would cause severe famine resulting in thousands of deaths. Nearly all scientists agree that climate gases and especially carbon dioxide produced by humans are responsible for the greenhouse effect and rising temperatures.

Project Green Hands, the biggest project undertaken by mankind to plant more than 700 thousand trees in a single day. The Guinness world record holder now aims higher with huge people participation and planting more than 2 million trees in a single day on 2nd Oct 2007.

Project green hands is a non-profit project governed by Isha Foundation, India which aim to tackle ecological problems prevailing in Southern part of India. The project has been in running from 2005 and has achieved some good success in the past years.
